Send A Review

I designed, built, and shipped a complete production app using AI assisted development: a review request tool for home service businesses, live at sendareview.com. This page is about what got built and how, because it shows what is possible now for a business that needs real software without a software company budget.

The problem it solves

Home service businesses live and die by reviews, but the moment to ask for one is on site, right when the job is done and the customer is happy. By the time the tech is back in the truck, the moment is gone. The existing tools are subscriptions aimed at agencies, with dashboards, contracts, and prices small service businesses do not want.

So I built the opposite: the ask lives in the tech's pocket, simple enough to use before leaving the driveway.

What it does

  • Sign up once. Start typing your business name and a live Google lookup finds it, fills in the name, and builds your direct Google review link for you. No hunting for the link, no copy and paste. No approval queue, no setup call, and no password to create or lose. Sign in is a smart link sent to your inbox.
  • Get your tools instantly. That one Google review link powers everything: one tap sending by text message or email, and a QR code to show the customer on site, the plumber finishes the job and the customer scans it right there.
  • It goes where the work goes. It is a progressive web app, so it lives on the phone home screen like a native app. No app store, no laptop, no office. Every job site is the office.
The Send A Review app on a phone: a Send a Review Request form filled with a customer's name, phone, and email, plus a pre-written Google review message ready to send by text or email.

The live app, running in a tech's pocket.

How it was built, and why that matters

One person built this end to end with AI assisted development: the database, the signup flow, the design, the deployment. No team, no agency, no months of meetings. That is the part worth paying attention to, because the same approach works for whatever your business needs built.

It also costs almost nothing to run. There are no traditional servers, it lives on Cloudflare's edge network, the same infrastructure serving this page. Nothing to patch, nothing to reboot, and it scales from one user to thousands without changing anything. Review requests go out through the phone's own text messaging and email, so there is no sending infrastructure to maintain at all.

The operator's side

Users never see this part. Behind the app sits a private admin dashboard, the control room I use to run the whole thing. It shows the system at a glance: total signups, text messages sent, emails sent, accounts still pending activation, and links that expired with no click, plus a breakdown for every individual user.

It also handles the unglamorous operational work: a blocked IP list to keep abuse out, a place to preview every email template before it goes out, and one click CSV exports, both a clean email list and a full communication log of every message the system has sent to each user.

What it deliberately does not track is who your customers are. The system never keeps the names, numbers, or addresses of the people a business sends requests to. That information lives only on that business's own page, for their reference, and they can delete it any time. Privacy was a design decision, not an afterthought.

The strategy behind it

The tool is free on purpose. It is a lead magnet that earns trust by being genuinely useful, and every user has the option to step up to the full service: white glove, turnkey reputation management where the whole job is done for them.

The clever part runs in the background. The system watches usage, and when a business hits a threshold that shows they are serious, it automatically sends them an email offering the upgrade. Nobody chases leads. The product qualifies its own users and makes the offer at exactly the right moment.

That is the kind of thinking I bring to client work too: not just building the thing, but building the system around it that turns usage into business.

Questions

What is Send A Review?

A free review request tool built for home service businesses, plumbers, HVAC, electricians. Sign up, get a personal link and QR code in about a minute, and ask for reviews on site, from the phone, the moment the job is done.

Who built it?

SolidPath AI designed and built it end to end using AI assisted development, from the database schema to the design to this case study. One person, no agency.

What does it run on?

Server rendered on Cloudflare Pages, a Cloudflare D1 database for the backend, a Google Places lookup that finds the business and builds its direct review link at signup, passwordless smart link sign in, MXRoute SMTP for transactional email, an Encharge automation flow for the upgrade offers, server generated QR codes, and a progressive web app layer. No traditional servers anywhere.

What data does it keep about my customers?

As little as possible. The system never retains the names, numbers, or addresses of the people you send requests to. That contact info lives only on your own page, for your reference, and you can delete it any time. The admin side tracks totals and account activity, not who you contacted.

Could SolidPath AI build something like this for my business?

Yes. This is what the practice does: custom tools, AI workflow automation, and technology handled end to end for professionals and small businesses who want one trusted partner instead of a vendor list.

Need something built?

This is what SolidPath AI does: real software, built lean, for professionals and small businesses who want their technology handled by one trusted partner.
